Our Story
The Iron Fist of Duncan was started by Lloyd Jensby (Guitars and Vocals) and Jimmy Sherritt (Vocals, Guitars, Keys) in 2009. After playing together in church as well as in other bands for many years, Lloyd and Jimmy had a desire to take things in another direction. The often asked about name of the band pays homage to Lloyd's late father and his belief that there was a right way and a wrong way to do things, and the right way was pretty much always his. Barry Box (Guitars and Vocals) who sold Lloyd his first Telecaster (which was later turned for a nifty profit) and Keith Perkins (percussion) have also been playing in IFOD and other groups and configurations for longer than they care to admit. "Mitch James" Smith aka "The Straw That Stirs the Drink" (Bass and Vocals) was invaluable addition a few years ago. The common thread is their love for good music and their common faith.
The band plays a wide variety of great music which ranges from rock and country standards , toe tapping blues, and great tunes from some of the best songwriters of the last several decades. Covering songs from Neil Young, Eagles, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Foo Fighters, to Buck Owens, Crosby Stills Nash Young and Zac Brown there is something in the set for everyone.
